Board Member Nomination

Dear NYSARH Members: On behalf of the Governance Committee of the New York State Association for Rural Health (NYSARH), I encourage you to consider applying for nomination to NYSARH’s Board of Directors.  Both in its membership and its governing body, NYSARH is interested in representation from a wide variety of rural stakeholder groups including, but not limited to, healthcare providers/practitioners, hospitals, clinics, rural health networks, policy and advocacy organizations, academia (faculty, staff and students), government, agriculture, economic development, and all other groups who share an interest in advancing NYSARH’s mission:  Improving the Health and Well-Being of New York State’s Rural People and Communities. NYSARH Board Members are volunteers who collaborate to provide strategic direction to the organization, identify and drive the organization’s policy platform, and conceive, develop and provide vital services to the Association’s members, including advocacy, education, engagement and networking.  The Board meets for approximately one hour per month by telephone, and has at least one in-person meeting per year.  Additionally, each board member is expected to serve on at least one committee of the board or corporation, which meet periodically, also by phone. Individuals interested in deepening their involvement with NYSARH through board service are encouraged to complete and submit the attached application to info@nysarh.org no later than July 27, 2018.  In the meantime, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to direct those to Governance Committee Chair, Claire Parde, who can be reached by email at cparde@columbiahealthnet.org or by phone at (518) 822-8820. Sincerely, NYSARH’s Governance Committee
