Supplemental Funding Opportunity!

HRSA and the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) have provided a supplemental funding opportunity within the Northern Border Region to address rural healthcare needs. Our ask of you is to distribute the letter below to the rural healthcare organizations within your organization to encourage them to apply for this funding opportunity.

Due to the relatively short timeline for completion of the Letter of Interest (LOI) and supporting documentation, HRSA and NBRC have allowed for a fairly abbreviated process. We do ask that interested applicant organizations send an email to NBRSupport@rhrco.org to request the LOI form and associated documents for applying. This process will also allow us to track the applicants and their submissions.

Here is the letter for your reference:

Dear Applicant,

On behalf of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC), we are pleased to invite you to consider applying for a one-year supplemental funding opportunity. HRSA and the NBRC have requested that the Rural Health Redesign Center Organization (RHRCO), through the Northern Border Region Technical Assistance Center (NBR-TAC), assist in the Letter of Interest (application) and sub-awarding process.

The timeline for Letter of Interest, selection and release of funds is condensed and to be completed on or before September 1, 2023. Letters of Interest will be due no later than June 30, 2023. Given this relatively short timeline, HRSA and the NBRC have allowed for a simplified and abbreviated application process.

This supplemental funding must be used to support new and/or innovative rural healthcare related programming in each of the four (4) Northern Border Region states of Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont. Maximum program award per State is $225,000. More detail is provided within the Program Scope document

A program(s) will be selected within each State. Program scope, Letter of Interest form and information, along with other documents will be made available to interested applicants by sending an email to NBRSupport@rhrco.org. Please include the name of the applicant organization, contact person, email and telephone number in your email request. Please reference the words “Supplemental Funding” in your subject line.

Again, please note this funding is for a one year period only.

 Sincerely,

 NBR-TAC Team
