Submission Deadline: Friday, August 16, 2019

The New York State Association of Rural Health (NYSARH) is pleased to invite students training in disciplines related to rural health to submit abstracts for poster presentations, to be delivered at the 2019 NYSARH Annual Meeting in Niagara Falls, NY on September 26, 2019. The NYSARH student poster session provides an opportunity for informal and interactive presentation and discussion of diverse topics in the field of rural health. Student submissions should focus on improving the health and well-being of rural New Yorkers and their communities.

Why Participate? Poster presentations offer an opportunity for students to share their research interests and project outcomes with leaders in rural health from across the state. Student submissions to conferences, like NYSARH, strengthen graduate program applications and expand students’ resumes and professional portfolios. The NYSARH poster session will offer an informal networking experience from which innovative ideas and exchanges may occur in, inspiring, and encouraging atmosphere.

To Submit an Abstract: Students are expected to submit a project abstract by Friday, August 16, 2019 via email to Carrie Roseamelia, PhD at roseamec@upstate.edu. The typical sections in an abstract include: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions; though, other headings with similar meanings may be used (i.e. Introduction in place of Background or Findings in place of Results). A list of references is also recommended. Completed projects, as well as works in progress are acceptable.

Upon Submission of an Abstract: NYSARH subcommittee members will review abstracts and accept submissions on an on-going basis. Students with acceptable posters are expected to register to the conference using the conference website. A registration fee of $20 is required. The registration fee provides a one-year student membership subscription to NYSARH and access to the poster presentation/networking event.
